In case you missed it, South Coast Roller Derby celebrated a real surprise wedding on our track on Friday! Congratulations to our fellow skater, Maniacal Misty, and her husband and one of our most dedicated volunteers, Mr. Misty. We are so grateful that we got to be a part of this moment with you! Happy Fat Tuesday! Let’s hit the track tonight for SCRD's Mardi Gras Scrimmage! First whistle is at 8pm, but come at 7pm to sign in and warm up. We have an awesome crew of officials and volunteers who we are excited to have join us, and we will have brand new (!) SCRD merch for sale. Bring both purple and yellow/gold shirts to be placed on a team. Message us with any questions! See you there!

Our newest SCRD team mascot, Pivot the Puppy, wants you to join us for SCRD's Mardi Gras Scrimmage on Tuesday! Register now, and we will see you on the track on Tuesday!

Forget the Fat Tuesday parade how about a Fat Tuesday SCRIMMAGE? Join SCRD for our Mardi Gras purple vs. gold scrimmage NEXT Tuesday, February 25 at the Laguna Hills Community Center. First whistle at 8pm! Skaters are asked to pre-register at the link in our bio. You can also join us and register/pay on site.... Please bring BOTH yellow/gold and purple shirts, ready to hit the track. Anyone who has passed WFTDA minimum skills is welcome to battle it out! You $5 drop-in fee will help us raise funds to kick start our 2020 season, including some travel opportunities for both of our teams! We also will have merch available before and after the scrimmage for you to stock up on your SCRD league spirit. For questions, please message us or email [email protected].

Our New Skater Bootcamp can be whatever you make it out to be! Take it from Alpaca Punch, who finished bootcamp earlier in 2019: I wanted to join roller derby because I wanted to feel part of something, and I wanted to challenge myself. The bootcamp was the first contact I had with the sport, and it has taught me the basic skills and prepared me to eventually join the team. The team is amazing and I’ve met wonderful people that never stop encouraging me to do my best! I stil...l have a long way to go, but I feel part of a wonderful family and I can’t wait to see what derby has in store for me. Punchy was recently voted Most Improved Skater in December, and we are so excited to see that trajectory continue this season! Ready to strap on some skates and join bootcamp?
