With the Regional Stay at Home Order lifted for all regions in the state, below is an update on accessing the State Park System: Campground sites are reopenin...g for existing reservation holders. Other state campground sites will be reopened for new reservations using a phased approach starting January 28. Not all campground sites are open to the public due to the pandemic, wildfire impacts and other issues. Group campsites remain closed. Day use outdoor areas of park units currently open to the public remain open. It is critical that Californians continue to recreate responsibly in the outdoors as the pandemic is far from over -- stay local, plan ahead to find out what is open, wear a face covering, practice physical distancing and avoid gatherings with people outside the immediate household.

Tamarack parking lot at Carlsbad SB will be closed 1/20-1/21 for the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Dredge and Beach Nourishment. The Agua Hedionda Lagoon maintenance dre...dging project will bring needed sand to Carlsbad State Beach. The project is set to begin in January, 2021 and will continue through April, 2021. During this project, heavy equipment will be operating on the beach Monday Saturday and some Sundays. Sand will be placed with dredge piping as far north as Pine Street in Carlsbad and south to the cliffs below the power plant (approaching Cannon Rd). The beach will have long sections of piping in place, with some sections that cannot be crossed. Please expect specific access points from the parking areas to the water. It is very important to use caution and to obey any safety flaggers or directional signs during this dredge project. Your safety is of utmost concern. The Tamarack Parking Lot will be closed for pipe delivery several times throughout the project and we expect to keep our visitors up to date with project information through our local social media sites, twitter and Facebook. To learn more about this project please visit https://www.carlsbaddesal.com/environmental.html or contact Pacific Dredge & Construction at 619-533-7932 ext. 3 or [email protected].
