Many joyful memories of Phil & Mindia teaching for us at the South Bay Dance Club as well as performing for us at one of our Spring Balls. They are an incredible couple as well as dancers & instructors. Phil will be missed. Such a tragic loss for dancers and the community. Prayers, love and sympathy for Mindia and Phil's family.

Please keep Catalina (wife of Gary Sturm of the El Segundo Masonic Lodge where we dance at the South Bay Dance Club) in your prayers as she fights the corona virus in the ICU at a local Torrance hospital.

SENT OUT EARLIER TODAY IN AN EMAIL: Dear South Bay Dance Club Dancers, I certainly hope you are well and staying safe during this unprecedented time of "safer at home" and social distancing to prevent spread of the coronavirus. The South Bay Dance Club wants to do our part in the prevention of the spread of the coronavirus. Therefore, with our dancers best interest and health in mind, we have decided to cancel our April dances (in addition to our previously canceled March 20th dance.). This cancellation includes our April 3rd dance (El Segundo Masonic Lodge) as well as our April 17 Spring Ball (Ayres Hotel). Thank you for your understanding as well as your patience. If you have questions or an urgent need for your refund, please email [email protected]. apologies for any inconvenience and best of health to you. We will see you on the dance floor soon!Thank you. IMPORTANT UPDATE: CANCELLED WESTCHESTER ELKS CLASSES & DANCES. After much thought, discussion, resourcing info, communicating with other dance teachers, event d...irectors, & venue management etc... Mindia & I have decided to cancel our Thursday classes/ dance starting tonight, for the rest of March. Then re-evaluate. Heartbreaking, but we feel it is the right decision, with growing concerns about the Coronavirus. We have a responsibility to our community. As much as we have financial concerns... as dance is our career... we believe health issues are the priority. Especially when lives are at stake. We want to do what we can to keep us all healthy. We have so many older people in our dance family who are more vulnerable with other health issues too; we do not want to pass the virus along to them either. Also we have been thoughtful about our helpers/support peeps (door sign in, set up, clean up etc.). Many dance conventions/ events are being cancelled. Here is a partial list: High Desert Dance Classic, Seattle Swing, All Star Swing, Boston Tea Party, & Chicago Classic etc. Many local dances & classes are also being cancelled. We are taking it one day at a time. Making changes as updates come in. Very sad & scary times. Let's please help ourselves & each other, however we can. See more
