Very proud of anthem blue cross for taking the steps to reign in the ridiculous costs of medical care provided at hospitals and hospital outpatient clinics. It is a travesty an MRI or ct costs 6 to 10 times more in a hospital than a freestanding clinic. Hopefully radiation therapy is next so we can continue to protect and expand private practice radiation oncology. We offer the same quality of care at a substantially reduced cost to the consumer and society at large.

I've said it many times....dont be fooled by fancy institutional names that just employ the newest young graduates from their residency programs. The private practitioners in your community have far more experience treating cancer than most of the docs at these centers. You should always ask yourself: if a program is so good and reputable, why do they need to market so hard?
