We still need volunteers! Adopt A Route with a few of your friends, your church group, your co-workers. It's an easy way to make a difference in your community and in the lives of local seniors who can no longer shop or cook for themselves. Call our Volunteer Coordinator Cynthia Arrington today!

The face mask fairies have been busy! A big thank you to longtime SOS supporter Gabrielle Chow who sewed close to 500 face coverings for our clients. AND to Jamieelee Garcia, who collected 350 handmade and donated masks though her network at Cal State East Bay. Our community of supporters never ceases to amaze us.

SOS Meals on Wheels kindly thanks the Albertsons Companies Foundation for a $20,000 grant from @Safeway, and for making us part of the #Nourishingneighbors family! @Safeway’s generosity helps us to provide the dual nourishment of a healthy meal and a dose of human kindness that makes it possible for our older homebound neighbors in Oakland and central Alameda County to stay in their homes, cared for and connected.

Preparing to deliver more meals and hope throughout the community. With your support on this #GivefromHomeDay, SOS Meals on Wheels will provide the dual nourishment of a healthy meal and a dose of human kindness that makes it possible for our older homebound neighbors to stay in their homes, cared for and connected, into their advanced years. This #GivefromHomeDay, help us spread hope throughout our community, and feed our older neighbors every day. Go to www.SOSMOW.org/donate

Our volunteers have the power in their hands to pack and deliver meals. You have the power to donate from home. Help us to deliver more meals by donating tomorrow April 21, #GivefromHomeDay! The need to fight food insecurity for our older loved ones has never been greater and SOS Meals on Wheels is meeting the challenge! Our kitchen has produced as many as 3,100 meals in one day; we’ve added an average of 87 new clients every week, since the shelter in place began; and more than 200 new volunteers have joined since March 16. This #GivefromHomeDay, help us recognize our incredible volunteers, spread hope throughout our community, and feed our older neighbors every day. Go to www.SOSMOW.org/donate

Want to know what 13,520 shelf-stable meals looks like? Watch this! As part of our response to the explosion of requests for meals since the arrival of COVID-19, SOS Meals on Wheels has purchased thousands of emergency meals. Many of these will go out to Alameda County seniors who are most at-risk of hunger and malnutrition. And who is that behind the wheel of the forklift? Why, that's our very own (gloved) hands-on Executive Director Charlie Deterline.
