Now accepting applications for the 2020/2021 Live Your Dream Awards! The Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award assists women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the financial resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects. You are eligible to apply for the Soroptimist Live Your Dream Awards, if you: Provide the primary financial support for yourself and your dependents. Dependents can include c...hildren, spouse, partner, siblings and/or parents. Have financial need. Are enrolled in or have been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program. We invest in cash grants to local women every year. These women have overcome challenges and are on a path to a new life. The Live Your Dream Award supports them in achieving their goals. Ultimately, a LYD Award finalist has the potential to receive up to $16,000. Yesterday was a perfect, sunny day that Soroptimist International of Sutter-Yuba chose for the 2019-2020 installation of the officers. Lovely fresh flowers adorned the setting and a toast was made by Ava and Julie as the installation began. Each incoming officer was presented with a bouquet of flowers as they were read the duties of their offices by the Installing Officer, Harjit Dhesi. Officers installed during the beautiful June ceremony are as follows: President - Beth Sha...rp, President Elect - Stephanie Stancil, Vice President - Sabena Suri, Treasurer - Kallie Johal, Secretary - Monica Quilty, and Delegates - Judy Brogden and Ruda Perez (not in picture). Laughter and fun were the order of the day as Past President’s Coleen and Harjit both shared some words of wisdom based on their experiences as SISY’s Past Presidents. The evening concluded with a delicious dinner provided by new President Beth Sharp. Congratulations to all!! See more
