***This product has expired. Please see new posts for more recent forecasts*** Fire Weather Watch has been upgraded to a Red Flag Warning. Same timing, coverage, winds, and humidity as the watch (North Bay mountains, 11pm Mon-8am Wed, N/NE 10-25mph gust 30-40mph, record dry fuels).
At 1000pm tonight the National Weather Service expects a round of North Winds to develop in the North Bay hills, creating Red Flag conditions in the Sonoma Vall...ey that are forecasted to remain a threat through Wednesday morning. Following the record setting high temperatures we are experiencing, Sonoma Valley will be in extreme and elevated fire risk conditions. Prepare a go-bag and discuss your ready-set-go plan, refrain from participating in outdoor activities that could ignite a fire, and remain vigilant about heat illness and safety. #sonomavalleyfiredistrict #sonomastrong readyforwildfire.org See more
Starting July 6 and through throughout the week, PG&E will conduct pre-inspection helicopter flights in Sonoma county to practice response during future Public ...Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events. Helicopters will fly low, roughly 100 feet, Monday through Friday, but not necessarily every day, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. PG&E does NOT anticipate initiating an actual PSPS for the next several days. Through August, PG&E plans to fly several helicopters along electric distribution lines located throughout the North Bay. More information about PG&E's helicopter flights and PSPS is available on their website here: https://www.pgecurrents.com//pge-conducts-pre-inspections/

With great regret we are announcing the Glen Ellen Fire Associations Mother's Day breakfast will not occur this year because of the shelter in place order, distancing requirements, and restrictions on public gatherings. We wish all of the moms in Sonoma Valley and beyond a Mother’s Day full joy and health. We are beyond grateful for mothers everywhere, who have nurtured us to be strong in times like these.
With great sadness Sonoma Volunteer Firefighters Association is officially announcing the cancellation of the 2020 Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks festival in Sonoma. It is our duty to protect and care for our community and, in this time, waiting until we can safely gather is paramount to our health and safety. Please read our statement and know that we WILL gather together in celebration again soon. #staystrong #staysafe #stayhome #SVFRA
