#FlexAlert Due to high temperatures across California, the grid operators at CAISO are asking everyone to help conserve electricity between 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM to reduce demand on the grid and avoid rotating power outages later today. Before 3:00 PM, "pre-cool" buildings and homes, charge electronic devices and electric vehicles, and run dishwashers, washers, dryers, and other major appliances. ALERT: PG&E has notified Sonoma Clean Power that it will call a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event to reduce the risk of wildfire beginning today, October 14th, 2020, between 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, through Friday, October 16th, 2020. **Actual shutoff and restoration times may change depending on weather and equipment conditions.** Customers along the eastern edge of Sonoma County may be impacted. Mendocino County is not in scope for this event. To find out whether your home... or business is served by an electric line that may be turned off for safety, visit www.pge.com/wildfiresafety to enter your address. We also encourage all customers to: 1) Learn whether their home or business is in or near an elevated (Tier 2) or extreme (Tier 3) risk for wildfire on the California Public Utilities Commission’s High Fire-Threat District map: https://ia.cpuc.ca.gov/firemap/ 2) Update their contact information at www.pge.com/mywildfirealerts or by calling 1-866-743-6589 during normal business hours. PG&E will use this information to alert customers before turning off electric service for safety, when and where possible. 3) Prepare for and practice an emergency plan to keep themselves, their families, and/or employees emergency-ready and safe during an outage. Keep in mind family members who are elderly, younger children, and pets. Additionally, make sure that phones, devices, flashlights, radios, and electric vehicles are charged.

If you are a Net Energy Metering (NEM) customer, you may have noticed a reduction in your solar system's production. Unfortunately, the poor air quality caused by the recent wildfires could have limited your system's ability to generate energy. Additionally, ash may have accumulated on your solar panels which could impact production. Reduced generation may mean higher bills and/or lower credit accumulation for the months of August-October. Here are some tips to help you reduce your household's energy usage: https://sonomacleanpower.org/energy-saving-tips
