Samantha Maria Xochitl Espinoza and Malaya Tuyay's altar "is dedicated to all the Black, Indigenous, and POC family and community that have been taken too early at the hand of a racist system that was never built for us." This installation affirms that the act of remembering is wrapped in tenderness and care, and is a space to honor the people who should still be here.
