As our last Friday FUN-day comes to an end, the Volunteer Services team would like to thank our amazing volunteers who participated in this year's MLK 30 Days of Service, Operation D.R.E.A.M! We wouldn’t be able to reach our goal of empowering 500 young leaders in our communities without all your support. #MLKDAY #MLKDAYEVERYDAY #CVNLMLKDAY ... #CaliforniansForAll See more

We are low on blankets. We are in need of: - Medium and Large sizes for boys... - Medium and Large sizes that can be for either boys or girls Note: Medium size are a minimum of 40" x 60" Large are a minimum of 54" x 60" (1-1/2 yard) We have over 100 baby blankets on hand so we do not need baby blankets at this time. Many of the groups we donate to are still not seeing patients in person. Blankets should be washed and bagged before dropping off at either Connie's house or Joann's Fabrics in Vacaville. In Vallejo/Benicia you can call our Blanketeer Karen to arrange drop off with her. If you use pins when making blankets, please double check to make sure pins have been removed.

Our Adopt-a-Family blessings have been delivered! THANK YOU to our wonderful community for sponsoring four families and two foster children. I love and appre...ciate our Solano County community always so full of kindness and giving souls. You are the true meaning of Santa Claus and the Christmas Spirit spreading love and warmth into homes and hearts. It means a lot and has brought light into the end of a very gray year. We put together two backpacks of clothing, shoes, and books, as well as a few toys for a brother and sister, ages 5 and 4, who are currently being fostered through our local system. The Christmas Village is an annual program by Foster Kinship Care Education Program-Solano College aka Fosterluv and helps to provide some holiday blessings to foster children. Huge thanks to Jennifer Beckley for helping to coordinate the Christmas Village and for all her wonderful work in our community. Please check in with Foster Kinship/Fosterluv if you’d still like to help there likely has been more children coming into care. Many thanks to Johnicon George, Barbara A. Cagler-Plummer, and the Tri-City NAACP for bringing Christmas blessings to two families- a single mom with two older children and a young couple with two small children. Johnicon and I connected just last week and he and his crew at the Tri-City NAACP jumped right in and covered all of these families Christmas wishes in just one week! Amazing and loving work by a wonderful organization. THANK YOU! (Thank you to Rhonda Rochon Smith of CVNL Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership for connecting us!) An anonymous trio of local moms put together Christmas blessings for a struggling family with two sweet babies, ages 2 and 4. I personally delivered to this family and the kids were SO excited. The little boy had kept asking his mom before I came if Santa was coming and when I got there I told him how busy Santa is this year and that he asked me to help him deliver. The two-year-old girl was jumping up and down the whole time. Lastly, our fire relief volunteer family was just blown away by your kindness! Gifts were delivered by an auntie and she told her four-year-old nephew: Santa came to my house early and left these for you! I don’t know what happened! He was SO excited! Special thanks to Solano Volunteers for assisting in our efforts and huge thanks to Western Ranch & Pet Supply for taking care of this family’s livestock. I wish I had more pictures to share but for privacy and anonymity reasons, I do not. Just know that you helped to fill the hearts of some darling kids and their parents this holiday season. From the bottom of my heart thank you.
