As we continue to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, today we highlight Maria Olivan, who comes from a small town on the beautiful Caribbean coast of Venezuela. Maria got her first taste of the US during her senior year of high school as an exchange student, landing in a 400-people town in Nebraska, far away from home. After returning to Venezuela to attend college, and working in Marketing for a year, she returned to the US to pursue graduate studies. While being an... international student in San Francisco she started working on campus helping other international students. Over time Maria moved up to leadership positions, the last one being the Director of Student Experience for over 3,000 students. "During this time my daughter was born, which solidified my desire to be my best self and wanting to pursue new challenging professional opportunities. My interest in technology, how it makes peoples’ lives better, brings efficiency and comfort, while at the same time challenging us, became a career for me when in April of 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, I joined SBRA as a customer success manager.
