But when our debates deteriorate into verbal assaults and character assassinations, we lose our ability to find common ground and, more importantly, we lose our focus on who Jesus created us to be. If our politics cause us to lose our kindness and our ability to honor a person we don’t agree wi...th, it’s time to step back and let Jesus renew our minds. Our job on this earth isn’t to be sure everyone agrees with our point of view, but to love. And to keep loving even if we disagree. If our politics cause us to abandon our ability to love, we lose our effectiveness for the Kingdom of God. YES, listen to the Holy Spirit and vote accordingly.
