What we wish Saturday nights at the fairgrounds still looked like

In the early morning hours of Nov. 19, 2020 the SoCal Fair lost a dear member of its family, Carl Wuersch, age 66. Mr. Wuersch was a staple to the foundation of the fair, and will forever be remembered for the spirit that he brought to Southern California. For the past four years, the SoCal Fairgrounds have been a second home for Mr. Wuersch. He loved his job, but what he loved the most was seeing the community smiling on his fairgrounds. When he was out of the office, he dev...oted his time to his two daughters, grandchildren and wife of 38 years. Those who were fortunate enough to have known Mr. Wuersch lost a loving family member, a true friend and a passionate leader. Mr. Wuersch’s spirit will be carried out by his SoCal Fair family and community as we honor his memory by continuing to make him proud. As his family mourns their sudden loss, we ask the community to please respect their privacy. An update on Mr. Wuersch’s arrangements will be released to the public at a later date.
