Weight is a symptom.
Holiday hours are as follows. All other time will be our normal business hours: December 24th 8-12 December 25 closed December 31th 2-6 Jan 1st closed... Thank you and happy holidays!
It is bittersweet for me to see my interns graduate and move on in life. But I am very proud of Jessica and she is officially a great doctor!
As we continue the holiday please take the following article into consideration for both girls and boys. The stats show that 34% of people sexually abuse children are family. https://www.girlscouts.org//ha/happy/what-is-consent.html
In my opinion, it is actually good to let your kids get "bored" sometimes. Not have scheduled events. They need to learn how to deal with that feeling. If they do not learn those skills I find they have difficulty in adulthood.
Many of my patients are overloaded with life. In my opinion, one of the hardest things to do is say "no". It is great to be open to experiences BUT if you think that you are going to struggle to get something done that you said "yes" too then don't say "yes". Practice "no". I was in a meeting last week and I asked someone on my team if the topic at hand was something she would like to do. She said "no" and I said "Good for you! I am sure that was hard for you to say". She said it was but if felt good. If you are a people pleaser just think that if you don't hold up your end of the bargain your people pleasing is not working! You will be a better people pleaser when you know how and when to just say "no" for yourself. Your brain will thank you for it and so will the people that you want to actually spend your time with.
No matter how realistically I try to explain expectations to patients, I have observed that many patients assume I will 'fix' them in 1-2 visits. That is either a huge complement to me or it is setting the patient up for disappointment. The example I give most often is the way in which we learn a new language. We don't learn a new language the first time we hear it. In fact, we have to use repetition and intensity to actually learn and remember the new language. Therapy is not different than learning a new language.
There is no A+B=C to rehab a concussion. Do you think you are a simple person?

The statement that I say in conversation that gets the most resistance is " Psychology is neurology". If you have a gut reaction to that statement just take a moment and let it sink in. I will explain more in a video.
