Hello and welcome back from break SNPhAm! Hopefully everyone had a wonderful start to the new year. The application for 2021-2022 SNPhA´s Clinical Coordinator and CNU Clínica Tepati´s Pharmacy Liaison Officer Position is now available until January 11, 2021 @ 5:00 PM. This is a 2-in-1 position. With this position, you will be responsible for scheduling pharmacist preceptors and students on clinic days at Clínica Tepati. In addition to making connections with the pharmacist pr...eceptors and students, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate leadership by working with CNU and UC Davis medical students to determine the best ways to provide high-quality patient centered care to the underserved population at Clínica Tepati as well. You will be the bridge between the CNU medicine and pharmacy students. This is a great experience for anyone looking to make their CV/Resume stand out! To be qualified for both positions, you will need to fill out the google form application placed below and select pharmacy liaison officer on the form. After the google form has been completed, the CNU SNPhA Board Members and CNU Clínica Tepati Board Members will be reviewing the applications and reach out to you if you have been selected to interview with our current CNU Clínica Tepati Board Members and UC Davis Clinic Leadership Members. Hello, we are currently looking for CNUCOP pharmacy student volunteers (ONLY available to P2 P4 students) to help volunteer at a non-profit, student-run clinic in Sacramento called, Clínica Tepati. This experience will allow you to use your clinical skills to apply to real-life scenarios in helping the underserved and uninsured patients in the community. CNU pharmacy students will have the chance to partner up with CNU medical students, UCD undergraduates and medical studen...ts to provide free primary health care services. This opportunity can enhance your interprofessional communication skills as well. While working with other healthcare professionals, we can help advocate for recent immigrant patients by serving as both linguistic and cultural interpreters and by providing a voice for these individuals. According to a study published in the Journal of Immigrant and Minority Health, Latinos are at a significantly greater risk for delayed diagnosis of HIV/AIDs than non-Latino whites, with Latino males and foreign-born Latinos at the greatest risk.
