Billie Jean King won the singles title and with Sharon Walsh, the doubles title at the first Women’s Tennis Classic The Snoopy Cup chaired and hosted by Jean and Charles Schulz and benefitting the Women's Sports Foundation. King also took home all three women’s titles in the final Snoopy Cup in 1985. Of her Snoopy Cup win, Billie Jean is quoted in The Complete Peanuts Vol. 12: 197374 saying: While I have been fortunate enough to win some of the most prestigious titles in tennis, the trophy from the Snoopy Cup remains one of my most cherished mementos from my tennis career.
