At Monday's Board of Education meeting, trustees and Superintendent Noguchi recognized Shackelford student Yerlin Martinez for the character trait of initiative...! Teacher Joe Tornberg nominated Yerlin and shared: I am selecting Yerlin because she is kind, respectful, and caring to her peers. Most importantly, she will take the initiative to help her teacher and friends when we are all facing technology problems. She will immediately attempt to troubleshoot the problem on her own, inform me of a solution, and lead the class towards a resolution. Yerlin has even produced step-by-step screen shots to further assist her classmates. This level of initiative is impressive for a scholar her age. Congratulations! See more

The City of Modesto agreed on Tuesday, September 22 to help 20 city residents adversely impacted by COVID-19 recover from economic devastation by providing full... scholarships to VOLT Institute. The training provided is in the area of Maintenance Mechanics, an area of coursework created as a response to high employer demand in Stanislaus County. See more
