When the Israelites wandered in the desert, God provided daily help in the form of manna. It was there every day, on schedule, to meet the needs of that day alone. "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23

God wants us to enjoy the abundance that comes with our relationship with Him. "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." 2 Corinthians 9:7-8

"But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:20-21

The Prayer of the Persecuted

Shadow Mountain North Park 15.09.2020

When Civilla Martin became ill one day as her husband Stillman prepared to travel some distance to a preaching engagement, Stillman wanted to stay home and take care of her. She encouraged him to go anyway, and their young son spoke up, "‘Father, don’t you think that if God wants you to preach today, He will take care of Mother while you are away?’ While her husband was traveling, Civilla wrote out their son's words as the lyrics to this now-famous hymn, and when Stillman returned, he set the words to music. Michael Sanchez presented this familiar song in last weekend's services, and the words ring ever true: "Be not dismayed whate'er betideGod will take care of you."

"We should aspire to excel both at the building up of the body of Christ and the building up of our faith in Christ." "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Ephesians 4:29

This weekend Pastor Jeremiah's message is called "Lift Up Your Eyes." It's sure to hit the mark since it's easy to get bogged down in what's going on around us. This song from last weekend will help to prepare our hearts to hear God's Word. Be sure to listen: "Who is like the Lord our God? Strong to save, faithful in love My debt is paid and the vict'ry won... The Lord is my salvation." See more

In his weekend message, Pastor Jeremiah shared a letter of encouragement, written to him when he was only a baby. The letter has blessed him throughout his life and is a tangible reminder of the enduring importance of a kind and positive word. How can you bless someone with the "write" words today? "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." I Thessalonians 5:11

In a world that often tears down, Christians are called to build each other up.
