Although we have been made alive by the Holy Spirit at the time of regeneration, our bodies are still subject to death and decay because of sin. But the Bible says that a future day of resurrection awaits us when our mortal bodies will be clothed with life immortal. "We know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body." Romans 8:22-23
As a "theological artist," using every technique possible to focus our attention on the truth of the Gospel, the Apostle Paul employs contrast to show us the important distinctions between the Spirit and the flesh. This teaching is one of the keys to understanding the Christian life, and the good news is this: if you are in Christ, the Spirit is in you and you are in the Spirit! See you Sunday at 10am!
Maybe you know in your mind that you're forgiven, but does it show in the way you are living your life? "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20
"If all of the heavens are singing along With the saints and the elders in glorious song And the praises they sing never seem to get old Then I'll stay here forever singing."... "Day and night they never stop saying: 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.' Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: 'You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power.'" Revelation 4:8-11
To Tithe is to Trust
"And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." Romans 8:3-4
"Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.'" Matthew 25:34
"The storm will not make you what you are. The storm will reveal what you are." "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it. Matthew 7:24-27

We have to take time from things that are valuable to understand how necessary prayer is. "Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10
The Prayer of the Persecuted
When Civilla Martin became ill one day as her husband Stillman prepared to travel some distance to a preaching engagement, Stillman wanted to stay home and take care of her. She encouraged him to go anyway, and their young son spoke up, "‘Father, don’t you think that if God wants you to preach today, He will take care of Mother while you are away?’ While her husband was traveling, Civilla wrote out their son's words as the lyrics to this now-famous hymn, and when Stillman returned, he set the words to music. Michael Sanchez presented this familiar song in last weekend's services, and the words ring ever true: "Be not dismayed whate'er betideGod will take care of you."
"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
"The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light." Romans 13:12
Lift Your Eyes Up
The Lord Jesus has promised to return. In the meantime, we are to live victorious and virtuous lives of expectation. Join us this weekend for the next message in Pastor Jeremiah’s new sermon series and learn to Lift Your Eyes Up as we study Paul’s words in Romans 13:11-14. Set your clocks back Saturday night and join us for worship this Sunday at 5pm.
Time to fall back! Set your clocks back Saturday night and join us for worship this Sunday at 5pm.
This weekend Pastor Jeremiah's message is called "Lift Up Your Eyes." It's sure to hit the mark since it's easy to get bogged down in what's going on around us. This song from last weekend will help to prepare our hearts to hear God's Word. Be sure to listen: "Who is like the Lord our God? Strong to save, faithful in love My debt is paid and the vict'ry won... The Lord is my salvation." See more
In his weekend message, Pastor Jeremiah shared a letter of encouragement, written to him when he was only a baby. The letter has blessed him throughout his life and is a tangible reminder of the enduring importance of a kind and positive word. How can you bless someone with the "write" words today? "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." I Thessalonians 5:11
In a world that often tears down, Christians are called to build each other up.
When we feel beaten down by this world, we should be strengthened by the knowledge of God's plan for His church. "The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple." Psalm 19:7
