#COVIDVaccine UPDATE: Next in line for vaccinations in SLO County is anyone age 75 or older, soon followed by the 65-74 age range. We know that yesterday the State announced that anyone 65 or older are now eligible for a #COVIDvaccine. Unfortunately, here in SLO County, we just don't have enough vaccine supply available. We must allocate our limited vaccine supply based on who is most at risk for serious illness or death from COVID-19. Here in SLO County, more than three-qua...rters of the people who have died from COVID-19 were age 75 or older. They are simply more at risk of serious illness or death than other age groups. By allocating the county’s limited vaccine supply to this group at this time, we are all helping to prevent the most serious outcomes. We want to be able to provide vaccines to everyone who is 65+, but we just don't have enough yet. The good news is that people between the ages of 65-74 are still in Phase 1b (our next phase of vaccination distribution), and we will open up our appointments to this age group when we have more supply. Want to make sure you get the latest vaccine news? Sign up for the new vaccine update newsletter at www.emergencyslo.org/subscribe or visit www.recoverSLO.org/vaccines. #EndthePandemic #SLOtheSpread

Looking for a fun, safe activity this weekend? Hop on your bikes and see if you can find the City of San Luis Obispo Government’s latest public art! Four local artists have painted murals within bulbouts at select intersections, painting the tops of the median diverters on Morro Street and a mural on Pismo Street k-rail. See map for locations: ... - Morro St. from Pacific St. through Church St. - Pismo St. at Morro - Nipomo St. at Pacific and Islay - Sandercock/Hutton These unique street paintings provide a visual cue to drivers that these corridors prioritize bicycle and pedestrian travel...which means safer ways for our community to get outside, be active and stay healthy.

Hold your horses! We recently heard that a state association has let the veterinarians in our county know that it's time to get their vaccine. We love our veterinarians, but are not quite there yet. With limited vaccine supplies, we're still working to vaccinate other high-risk members of our community. We'll let you know when that changes, but until then, please hold tight on booking your appointment, veterinarians. See the latest news on vaccines in our county (and who is currently receiving them) at www.recoverslo.org/vaccines.

What kinds of gatherings are contributing to our case rates in SLO County? Here's the breakdown among our positive cases who say they attended a gathering. Help make private gatherings less risky by following strict protocols: Have it outdoors only, keep it to people from up to 3 stable households, require face coverings, maintain physical distancing, AND keep it short (less than 2 hours). Please follow these guidelines as we move into the holiday season so we can keep our families and community safe, and continue to #SLOtheSpread in #SLOCounty.

Well look at us, inching towards the Orange Tier! Today's numbers from the State show that #SLOCounty remains in the Red Tier...but a mere 0.1 away from a case rate that would qualify for a less restrictive tier. Keep up the good work, #SLOCounty! See more of the State's metrics and other key stats at emergencyslo.org/DailyStats. #SLOtheSpread #WeAreSLOCounty #TierTuesday
