Posted @skinandbareit So this is likely to disrupt some deeply engrained beliefs many have about skin but here we go! We’ve talked about over exfoliation but let’s go a little deeper into why exfoliation is not going to be the most important part of your skincare regimen, as most people would have you believe. That top layer of skin, the one you have been told time and time again is dead and needs to be removed regularly? Well that really isn’t the case. If your skin is he...althy then dead skin doesn’t need help, it just falls off. If they are still attached then they are still serving a purpose, they may have lost their water content but your skin is a full, functioning ecosystem with cells in constant communication. That communication includes these dead skin cells up until the moment they fly away. These cells also add a layer of protection as an active contributor to your skin barrier- which helps your skin retain moisture and keeps microorganisms out. So when you see resurfacing treatments that promise to remove layers of skin, or your skin appears dull and you are certain a deep exfoliation is what you need, just remember that over exfoliation begins a vicious cycle that is in no way sustainable. The dullness will be back and likely worse and it will be accompanied by dryness and likely sensitivity of one form or another. If your skin IS dull and if their does seem like there is an accumulation of dead skin, we need to look at why. Scraping them off on a monthly/weekly basis is not going to fix the problem. Dry skin is not dead skin and it needs to be nourished and hydrated, not removed. See more

THE IMPORTANCE OF AN EYE CREAM One of the most common things we hear in this profession is people using moisturiser on their eye area, rather than an eye cream. You might get away with this when you're young, but that collagen and elastin is breaking down as we speak and it's important to protect and preserve it before the breakdown has an obvious effect on the skin as lines and wrinkles. Did you also know that eye cream is more concentrated and is a smaller molecular... formula than a face moisturiser, so it can absorb into the fine structure of the skin around the eye area. If you are just using a moisturiser, the risk is that the formula is too large for the skin to absorb and it will build residue and cause tiny little bumps called milia which are really hard to get rid of. As moisturiser has water attracting humectants using it on the delicate area around the eyes can also cause morning puffiness and bags. So here are some Roccoco tips when it comes to caring for your eyes; Eye do's - Use ONLY Eye products in the eye area (unless otherwise directed)! - Best Application - apply a rice grain amount with the tip of your ring finger, using light pressure in sweeping/ patting motions. Start in the under eye area and sweep out to crows feet, then from bridge of the nose out to the crows feet area, following the contour of the orbital bone. This guarantees you will bid your bags goodbye, and get a noticeable lid lift! - Apply eye cream after serum and before moisturizer - this creates a barrier, to ensure the delicate eye skin is protected from thicker, more emollient creams, and prevents these little sebaceous hyperplasias / millia. Pro Tip - a little GloBiotic Serum under your eye cream on the under eye area helps to brighten - for eyes that really POP! Eye Don'ts - Keep eye cream away from lash extensions. - Don't waste any excess product! - If you dispense too much, apply to lips, along naso-labial folds and on your frown lines #roccocobotanicals #roccocoprofessional #eyecream #antiagingskincare #cremadeojos #skinelementsbynatalia #huntingtonbeach

Posted @withrepost @roccocobotanicals Introducing Keratozyme. A revolutionary biological enzyme that digests keratin. Keratozyme is extremely effective in digesting keratin. It is a gentle natural alternative to AHA’s and thioglycolates (depilatory creams), so another positive side effect is that it retards the stem cells in the hair follicle, by weakening the hair and acting as a hair retardant. It is also extremely effective in the treatment of Keratosis Pilaris, Acne, Scarring & Pigmentation. For the ultimate in smooth and rejuvenated skin. #keratozyme #roccocobotanicals #roccoco #australianmade #abeauty #a-beauty #skincareaholic #botanicalskincare#acnetreatment #hyperpigmentation #melasmatreatment #skinelementsbynatalia #huntingtonbeach

Posted @withrepost @facerealityskincare Unfortunately, the egg white and honey mask you found on Pinterest won't get your acne under control. We wish it was that easy, but the clearing process requires commitment to lifestyle choices and consistent use of the right products custom to your skin type, acne type, and severity. Clear skin is possible however, applying your pantry ingredients onto your breakouts isn't your long-term solution. See a professional acne specialist today!
