Learn the customs and traditions associated with Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead from SJWC Clubmember Mary Lou Mason. While she constructs an offerenda (altar) for former Clubmember Joan Bohnett, she provides an overview of the customs and traditions associated with Dia de Los Muertos, shares information about putting together an altar with all the basic elements; and provides some practical ideas for handmade decorations to make an altar colorful and attractive. Watch as Mary Lou creates a colorful, unique manifestation of an ancient cultural practice, folk art and craft, and, best of all, see the emerging persona of Joan as a fond remembrance.
