Meet Ilseh! Ilseh is a mentor at Peer Connections, studying Chicana/o Studies with a minor in Environmental Justice. She chose to work at Peer Connections because she loves helping students and being a source of guidance. Her favorite memory at Peer Connections was helping to plan and facilitate new hire training on Fridays! #sjsu #spartanup #peerconnectionscommunity

Phuoc is Peer Educator of the Week! Phuoc works as a tutor, and he chose to work at Peer Connections because he wanted to help students academically with his knowledge and experience. He wants to become a professor at SJSU! His favorite memory of Peer Connections was learning from Mr. Joshua Kas-Osaka and other professional staff members. In the future, Phuoc wants to take his mother on a pilgrimage around the world!

Do you recognize some of the student educators? Yesterday, we participated in Admitted Spartans Day and shared our experiences and advice about college. From polls to the Q&A section, we interacted with over 80 students and provided them on how Peer Connections can personally, academically, and emotionally support their college career! #sjsu #admittedspartansday #peerconnections #spartanup #sjsubound

Our Peer Educator of the week is Michael! Michel is a first year grad student studying History! Here at Peer Connections he is an embedded tutor for History 15. A fun fact about him is he once lived in Oklahoma for two months! Michael chose peer connections because he wanted to experience in education because he wants to eventually teach history! Michael says his favorite memory is when a student told him that’s his advice helped them get a good grade on an assignment they had previously failed. Keep up the good work Michael you are appreciated here at Peer Connections!

Our Peer Educator of The Week is Elaha, and she works as a tutor! She wanted to work at Peer Connections because of her love for helping people, and wanted to be apart of the tutoring community. The Networking Fair was her favorite memory, since it was a chance to meet so many new people. Elaha’s fun fact: she has 2 cats names Theo & Saki!

Our first Peer Educator of the Week that we want to recognize is our Learning assistant Shadvin!Shadvin is a senior studying Biology. Fun fact about her she is currently a professional stadium and open horse jumping athlete! Shadvin says she has had many amazing experiences here at Peer Connections but her favorite memory from peer connections was during her training, her and other peer educators held hands in a group and then untied the knot, which was so fun! We appreciate you Shadvin, thank you for all you do here at Peer Connection!
