Don’t be alarmed, the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services will issue region-wide emergency alerts today at noon. The alert will be sent through the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) system to cell phone users across the San Joaquin Valley and Southern California Regions asking residents to stay home except for essential activities. The Regional Stay-Home Order took effect in those two regions at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2020 and will remain in effect for at leas...t three weeks. This message is informational only, and individuals who receive wireless alerts SHOULD NOT contact law enforcement or call 9-1-1. CA Notify will help slow the spread by alerting those who opt in to receive an alert if they’ve come into contact with someone who has tested positive for #COVID19. The process is private, anonymous and secure, and is one of the many tools in the state’s data-driven approach to help reduce the spread.
