‘We are all one bullet from being another hashtag’ - Hello America It is time for us to hear their stories. This Friday at 8pm we will do just that. Sixty-Six Theater Co. is partnering with CBG Arts, Inglewood Theater Group and Brandon Rainey to stage a live streamed staged reading of his powerful new play ‘Hello America.’... The show, which is written and directed by Brandon Rainey, features an amazing cast of black male actors who take you on a hysterical but emotional journey of identity, masculinity, fatherhood, love, and lust using creative storytelling, monologue, film and music. ‘Hello America’ earned attention at sold out workshop performances at Greenway Court Theater, University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and USC. The show is inspired by For Colored Girls who considered suicide when the rainbow is Enuf", For Black Boys who considered Homicide when the streets were too much and the father episode from Fresh Prince of Bel Aire.’ ‘Hello America’ paints painful pictures like police brutality, cointel, suicide, homophobia, and other controversial topics making it a roller coaster of human emotion you can see over and over.
