Southern Oregon and northern California will see widespread rain from Thursday afternoon until Saturday afternoon. Heavy rain is expected for the 48 hours alon...g the coast and in the foothills of the Cascades, with the heaviest rain expected from Friday morning through Friday night. With the snow level at 5000 feet, most of the high Cascades and passes will see plenty of snow accumulation, especially Friday night. With some new burn scars around populated areas, it’s important to prepare yourself before flash flooding strikes. Here are four important things you can do right now to prepare yourself for flash flooding or a debris flow near a burn scar.
Burn Permits are now required. If you live in the city limits check with your local fire department on where to recieve your permit. If you live in state responsilibilty area you will need to visit https://burnpermit.fire.ca.gov/ to obtain a valid permit. #CALFIRESKU2020
How much cooler will it be tomorrow afternoon compared to this afternoon? Overall, temperatures will trend lower by 15 to 25 degrees! In short, Friday will feel very different than today. #orwx #cawx
A big change in the weather is on the way starting Thursday and continuing through the weekend. A cold front arrives Thursday bringing widespread beneficial rai...nfall and mountain snow. Temperatures will be drastically colder Friday and through the weekend. Snow levels will lower to 4500 ft Friday, then down farther to 3500 ft Saturday. If you have travel or outdoor plans this weekend, you should pay close attention to the forecast. There will be a brief break in the weather Saturday morning, but another front will move through late Saturday with another round of precipitation. With lower snow levels on Saturday expect more widespread impacts from snow Saturday night into Sunday. Once precipitation tapers off Sunday evening, it will be very cold across the area Sunday night into Monday morning. Be sure to check road conditions before venturing out and stay tuned to the latest forecast.
