New Abusive Conduct Training Required for California Employers Effective January 1, 2015, employers with more than 50 employees are required to include in their mandated supervisor training a component on the prevention of abusive conduct in the workplace. Existing law requires employers with more than 50 employees to provide sexual harassment training to supervisors within six months of their hiring and then once every two years thereafter. Assembly Bill No. 2053, signed int...o law by Governor Brown on September 9, 2014, expands the scope of training required by AB 1825 to include an element on the prevention of abusive conduct in the workplace. "Abusive conduct" is defined in the statute as malicious conduct of an employer or employee in the workplace that a reasonable person would find hostile, offensive, and unrelated to the employer's legitimate business interests. Contact Terence L. Greene if your business needs additional information or training on California's required workplace supervisor trainings. For more information, please visit http://ow.ly/Eef6R

Simpson Delmore Greene was a proud participant in Feeding America's 2014 "Food from the Bar" competition. 16 San Diego law firms competed for 1 month to see who could make the biggest impact and help overrule hunger in San Diego. Simpson Delmore Greene LLP partnered with Aptus Court Reporting and hosted a Silent Auction Fundraising event which was a huge success. Our firm members also volunteered hours at the Feeding America warehouse were we were able to work with the Red ...Cross and package over 200 emergency food kits for victims of the recent San Diego fires. Simpson Delmore Greene LLP came in strong as a first year participant and won our league and the most Creative/ Effective Fundraising idea. Thank you to all that donated to this great cause. Overall, the 16 firms raised $41,539, completed 492 volunteer hours and donated 2,265 pounds of food!
