January 5, 2021 Good afternoon Sierra Families and Community, Breakfast and lunch will be available for pick up at Foothill Elementary and Sierra Junior Senior High, Monday through Friday, from January 6th-15th.... Pickup at Foothill Elementary will be from 8:00am to 10:00am in the bus drop off by the MPR. Pickup at Sierra Junior Senior High will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the doorway of the small gym. All children in the community, ages 1-18, can receive meals at no cost from either site.

January 2, 2021 Good afternoon Sierra Unified Families, As mentioned in the community message on Friday, there are 2 conditions that would cause us to have to delay the return to in-person instruction. Since our communication, we have had an increase in reported positive cases or cause for quarantine among staff members. The increase is significant enough that we cannot safely meet the needs of our students and maintain health and safety protocols set in our plan to meet the ...state, county and district guidelines. We will begin instruction with online, distance learning Monday, January 4-Monday, January 18. You can reference your school’s webpage for the online schedules used earlier this Fall, or visit sierrausd.org/distance-learning-schedules/. We are currently working on a plan for school meals and how those will be distributed. We will send out further details through Aeries Communications and social media when those plans are ready. It is our intent to open school sites to in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Planning and communicating with the health and safety of our Sierra Unified staff, students and their families in mind has become our constant guidepost in an unconventional school year. To that end, we want to notify you that we are updating some health/safety protocols for our campuses in response to new action...s presented by the Fresno County Department of Public Health and the state of California earlier this week.
