Thank you so much for your contributions to our Jones Fire recovery efforts, we are so excited to have reached over 20% of our GoFundMe goal! There is much more to do to achieve that goal and we can’t do it without the help of all of you. Please keep donating and sharing the GoFundMe link with your friends, family, and anyone else who might have the means to donate during what we recognize is a very challenging time for most. Any donation amount helps! We also want to keep y...ou apprised of what we are doing and have accomplished so far in our recovery process: We have undertaken the arduous task of inventorying everything we lost in the fire We are prioritizing immediate, mid-term and long-term actions for recovery We’ll be purchasing new monitoring equipment in October so that we can continue monitoring the health of our streams in November We have had initial meetings with the independent insurance adjuster assigned by our insurance company, which will be a long process We have met with the interim Executive Director of the Woolman School and coordinated efforts to prepare a restoration plan for the campus areas that were burned We continue to work on our projects including restoration at Deer Creek Ranch, Our Forests, CHIME, and more! We still have a long way to go. Our major concern right now is that we are only going to receive a fraction of the necessary funding through our insurance policy, which brings us to the continued need to reach our goal of $150,000 to ensure we can replace crucial equipment, keep staff working, and guarantee our ability to operate, now, and long into the future. Our deepest gratitude to all of you who have donated and supported us. We will continue with progress updates as we have them. Stay safe and take care! https://gf.me/u/yucj99

Here is a great opportunity to learn about the iNaturalist app.
Mistletoe is very common in our area and an important food source for a variety of wildlife, including ringtails (our local, elusive night sleuth). Have you noticed any lately or gathered some for the holidays?
Many thanks to Patagonia for the donation of waders and backpacks to get us back out monitoring in the creek (+ keeping us dry and stylish while we do it!). The generosity of folks from companies like Patagonia and from individuals like you has been critical to our recovery from the Jones Fire. Thank you!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, open registration for the spring California Naturalist program has been put on hold. We are trying to figure out if the course will run this spring. Further updates coming in early January so please check back in then. Apologies and thank you for your patience.
