I am very disappointed but not surprised to say that king newsom has yet again closed down the state. Please make sure to support your local restaurants and businesses during this time as this will be the final nail in the coffin for many of them....just as they had a glimmer of hope too. For all the restaurants that just took a leap of faith to spend thousands of dollars to create an outdoor seating area is now gone to waste. Yes it’s supposedly 3 weeks then again it was 3... weeks back in March and here we are almost a year later. I know most people on both sides are totally against newsom’s dictatorial shut down orders but for those who don’t know... -Newsoms Plumpjack winery has not closed which earns him FAR more income than being governor (which earns him about $17k/mo) -He also ordered state workers to receive a 10% pay cut, which he said he would take yet he is still taking a full salary -He is still sending his kids to in person private school -He and aunt Nancy feel comfortable enough to go out to restaurants and hair salons with no masks with the rest of their elitist politician friend meanwhile Ca salons and restaurants are expected to close with no aid -Newsom paid $100/night/person to house the homeless in hotels but won’t pay $100/week/person to fund the states share of unemployment for all those that they’re putting out of work. Unemployment is now about $200/week which doesn’t even cover my bills let alone food or anything else. -And for anyone who dares defy these orders, he is threatening to withhold funding and aid to those counties & fine/arrest/revoke license from individuals and businesses. As Sheriff Bianco of Riverside pointed out, it wasn’t long ago that Newsom was openly criticizing Trump for threatening to withhold funding from states who did not follow his laws. . Here we are, yet again, king Newsom has decided that the beauty industry should be divided and has permitted hair & barber salons to resume work indoors while skin care (facials, waxing, lashes, etc) & nails still have to work outdoors. As an acrylic nail tech, I am not able to work outdoors. Here’s a little nail school lesson: Acrylic cures/dries with heat. At even 80 degrees indoors, the acrylic sets far too fast for me to work, let alone outside in 97-112 degrees. Gel... polish, which I also work with, cures with UV rays, which are emitted by the sun of course. I don’t do pedicures anymore because it causes unbearable pain in my back, which leaves me to only be able to offer regular polish manicures. This service wouldn’t provide nearly enough income and there’s virtually no demand for it since gel polish was invented. All of this aside, the guidelines for working outside demand that service providers be able to RECOGNIZE & TREAT SIGNS OF HEAT ILLNESS (but we can’t offer water since beverage services are not permitted). I was trained to do nails, not be an EMT. Not to mention the air quality and the fact that there is ash raining from the sky like snow. I’m so frustrated, but I can’t say I’m surprised. Gavin Newsom, you’re doing great, keep up the awesome work

COMING SOON!!! Sierra’s Nail Studio, Clovis, CA. The salon I had been working out of for the past two years unfortunately closed in March due to COVID-19. However, I’ve decided to open my own little salon studio in Clovis! We’re still finishing up the interior work, the target date is August 1. Hopefully this second wave of closures doesn’t go on too much longer that way I can work by the time we’re ready to open. Any page likes and shares are much appreciated!
