What would YOU like to see in a new library in Truckee? We want to know! Nevada County, the Friends of the Truckee Library, and the Town of Truckee has partnered with LDA Partners, a design and architecture firm out of Stockton, to develop a design for a new Library in Truckee. The current Truckee Library serves our community of over 17,000 people. With over 60,000 patron visits per year and 200 visitors per day, and we need more space!... Libraries are not just about books anymore; modern libraries can include cafes, business incubators, podcast studios, 3D printing labs, game rooms, outdoor learning labs, and so much more. They are a place to socialize, play, collaborate, and engage with your community. The possibilities are endless! Take the LibraryUP survey at www.research.net/r/LibraryUP or go to www.truckeefol.org for more info!

The Tahoe Truckee Unified School District (TTUSD), Sierra College (Tahoe-Truckee), and local agencies have received important information regarding various counterfeit (fake) prescription medications (pills) being sold locally on the streets that actually contain fentanyl. Fentanyl is an extremely powerful opioid analgesic that is very dangerous and can be lethal in small doses. Some of the pills can be various colors and sizes. Some have been known to have the letter M st...amped on one side and the number 30 on the other side. The counterfeit pills can also be called various names including beans, biscuits, treats, blues M-30’s or thirties. NOTE: Prescription drugs should always come from a credible physician and pharmaceutical source. As a reminder, taking non-prescribed medications and/or other street drugs can cause SERIOUS harm, which can lead to health complications, addiction, and even death. If you need help/support regarding drug dependence and addiction, please connect with a provider or program through the Truckee, North Tahoe Mental Health Providers directory: https://www.tfhd.com/services/mental-health-providers.
