Everyone who is working to maintain their recovery from addiction or heal from a mental health disorder is on a unique journey. But no one has to walk this path alone. As you review the progress you've made, it's important to acknowledge those who have provided guidance, support, and compassion along the way. To promote a mindset of gratitude, we welcome you to tag someone in the comments and tell us why you're grateful for them.
We almost always try to include a motivational message in the posts we share on Mondays. We do this because we completely understand what a challenge it can sometimes be to feel inspired and energized as a new week begins. But for the millions of people who have ADHD, the fight to remain focused and driven isn't limited to one day a week. In a recent Psych Central article, two ADHD experts highlighted a series of strategies that can make a world of difference: http://ow.ly/5BUF102pNyI

When you're asked to describe a friend, family member, or other loved one, you probably find it very easy to highlight the many wonderful qualities that make them so special. But can you do the same for yourself? This week, we'd like to challenge you to practice positive self-talk. Think of something kind that you can say about yourself. Feel free to write it down, share it here in the comments, or just hold it close in your heart.
Self-care is an essential element of a healthy lifestyle. But your efforts to ensure your quality of life must also include monitoring your mental health. Information and awareness play a key role in this endeavor. Today is National Depression Screening Day. If you think you may have developed depression, or if you've been worried about someone you love, a screening can be a vital source of information. Meet Roby De Los Santos. He has been with Sunrise Ranch for over three years. Currently he is our Patient Account Representative. Watching clients come in need of our help and leave as a different person is a reason why he chooses to work in recovery. He lives by the quote Prayer is the last resort of a troubled man, but it’s the first chose of a wise man. His goal is to continue to learn and absorb as much as he can within the finance department. Please join me in honoring this month’s feature on Roby. Thank you for all you do!
