Rheumatic heart disease is why we worry so much about sore throats in pediatrics. RIP Bill Paxton, loved your performance in Apollo 13. http://www.mercurynews.com//bill-paxtons-death-related-to/

Guess this is something only pediatricians would be interested in... a 2014 study found that burping did not decrease either colic or spit ups. Hopefully this can mean more sleep for parents! https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24910161

while many homeopathic medicines are generally recognized as safe, teething tablets have had many concerns. Safer is to use tylenol and a teething ring instead! http://www.sacbee.com//nati/national/article116985113.html

Question of the day! Are supplements like B12 safe to take when breast feeding? Great question! Short answer: probably. Long answer: supplements such as vitamins are not regulated by the FDA, and as such we have limited data to support how safe they are. But the good news is that most vitamins and nutritional supplements are generally recognized as safe, so taking reasonable amounts should be ok. Specifically most water soluble vitamins (meaning all vitamins except vitamin A, D, E, and K) are very safe, any excess vitamin that is not needed by the body is usually excreted in the urine.
