https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Do_i9tCUD-Y Please see below for info about the Go Fund Me TIP function - quick note: we don't get that money. Martial arts is a powerful way forward for many young people in their lives. Training bodies and minds is of utmost importance. Moving on the mat, interacting with various partners, working on pure body skills teaches empowerment because it helps physical and emotional growth. Martial arts training gives all students, but especi...ally our young gakusei, a way to effectively respond to various situations. We don't teach attacking unless it's a response to being attacked. There is no sparring, per se but rather we "free style" where we blend and re-direct various attacks to ensure safety. It's all about defense, response, and how to mitigate a dangerous situation so no one becomes a victim or gets drawn into a violent situation. Sensei Dye's school is unique in many ways. He has a police officer's background - in other words real, on-the-street experience, coupled with nearly 60 years of skills and training of multiple black belts in judo, karate, aikido, lua and others. He's able to blend styles, attitudes, and philosophies into the best of all these various arts for his students. Even after decades of training, he remains a student, learning so others can benefit. Your support for Shuyokan ensures that this wonderful vision of how to help all people grow in self-confidence and skills will continue. We, the Students of Shuyokan, thank you from our hearts for understanding how valuable this all is to us and to you. Osu! Shuyokan Students Please note: The TIP function in GoFundMe DOES NOT go to Shuyokan. It's strictly something that GFM uses for support of their platform. Although we are grateful for Go Fund Me's great service, they take a percentage (2.9% + 30 cents per transaction) off the top of any donation you generously send us. That's enough in our opinion. After you enter your donation amount under tip gfm services change the default amount to zero and make sure your amount you are donating is correct with no tip before you continue payment We just wanted you to understand this.
