So my Facebook reminded me today of this very special and important day and I’ll explain why below. Many of you don’t know that I was a figure competitor way before a spray tanning specialist. I competed for the 1st time at the 2009 San Jose Championships, when it was promoted by Paul Love Amazing show by the way- Ronnie Coleman was the guest Poser and I waited outside his dressing room until he came out to take pictures with him ... So from June 2009-July 2010 I competed in 6 shows and in my 5th show I took Overall Figure in the Central California Championships held in Modesto (that was actually the last year for that event in that location). The highlight of my competing career. Well unfortunately my skin would have an allergic reaction to tanning, I didn’t know at the time until I started noticing I would itch or have hives until the color would completely fade from my skin. So I vowed that I wouldn’t compete again until I had my own tanning solution. I loved competing so much but I needed a hypoallergenic solution for my beyond sensitivity skin. Here I am 2 years later, with my own little solution about to set foot on stage at the 2012 Fresno Classic, for the 1st time my skin was in heaven! I showered and I was left with a nice beach tan for about 5 days. Loved it!! I had never intended it to become a business but fellow athletes would ask me : Who tanned you? Your color looks really nice and it’s not orange in the sun or undertone. And I would tell them, it’s my own solution, I’m allergic to everything lol. Then I got asked: Can you tan me? I’ll get you a few from my team!! So I started to travel for 3-5 people plus I’d compete in the show as well, competing became free at that point, all my costs were covered. This is how Showtime Tans was born, out of necessity. I’m so happy that the demand for it grew over the years, I’ve been privileged to have meet thousands of athletes from amateurs to Pros.
