A little before and after . Claudia, manny, and I have been organizing @walktheblocksd now for over a month as a way to help businesses on Logan stay afloat, which has been awesome. As part of Walk The Block we created Clean The Block, an initiative to help maintain Logan ave and preserve our culture through hiring a team to do the maintenance as well as public art projects. Unfortunately, Logan Ave is out of the districts maintenance area so the responsibility falls on us to maintain it. We’re super excited about this initiative but WE NEED YOUR HELP in a form of a donation as we need to cover costs of maintenance. No donation is too small. And a huuuge thank you to our maintenance crew who’s clearly doing a great job!

For the month of September we are celebrating Mexico and it’s independence from Spain. Remembering the strength of our ancestors to guide us through these hard times. Pictured is Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, known as El Padre de la Patria, who commenced the revolt on September 16, 1810 with the Famous Grito De Dolor...es. Hidalgo himself a Criollo, sought the help of mestizos e indígenas who without their help and large armies would not have been successful in the revolt. Tune in at midnight on September 15 as the president of México re-enacts El Grito De Dolores and commences Las Fiestas Patrias! VIVA MÉXICO!
