In June of 2015 when my oldest daughter graduated high school I got my hair twisted for the occasion. Since then I have been on a journey to re unite with pre parental Leon. Investing in loads of personal work, yoga practice and yoga teacher training. Trusting the natural process of my hair and just learning to trust the process in general I learned that I have/had trust issues! Lol At first I was resistant to believing that but when it came to committing to this hair appoi...ntment all types of feelings came up. I was scared. Had the what if’s something terrible. The is Covid thing got me being creative in my approach to spending time with friends and being of service. Yesterday I was able to stabilize this fence for @tisha_f and create this 8x8 place to paint for the homie @djcazcoin It was really good seeing other humans from the sac to Hip Hop community and being creative. Man time flies when you are having fun. This is a late post from early February but here goes..... Check out these youth at Oak ridge elementary putting in work on the first two panels of a 7 panel mural about black history, resilience and character. It is such a blessing to be back here with the mighty might oaks for our second year of POPS With K-6 graders. Engaging them in art as an educational tool and strategy for self regulation. In these sessions we teach the you...th how to breathe deeply and use their deep breaths to calm themselves while painting. It is our hope they explore these techniques on their own and use them when tuff times arise.
