Today is World Prematurity Day! Meet our Sharp Mary Birch NICU grad Teddy Acena, who celebrated his first NICU graduation anniversary this past week! Teddy spent over two months in our NICU being born at 27 weeks gestation and weighing only 2.4 pounds. To celebrate his year marker from graduating from the NICU, mom Grace delivered snacks for the NICU staff with a sweet note. ... "Our Teddy has been growing and thriving at home. He has passed his one-year birthday. We are so very thankful to each of you for helping us get him home." Thank you to the Acena family for the sweet treats and the lovely photos. We would love to share your child’s journey through our NICU to NOW program. Please take a moment to update the Sharp Mary Birch team on your NICU graduate’s growth, milestones and accomplishments. The term Magnet designated hospital was coined in the early 80’s by the American Academy of Nursing to describe hospitals that could attract and retain nurses. Patients rely on the Magnet designation as the ultimate credential for high-quality nursing. We are proud to announce that Sharp Mary Birch has received the honor of Magnet Re-designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
