I am currently a real estate agent with Intero Real Estate Services a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, in Carmel-by-the-Sea. I specialize in luxury properties throughout Monterey County. I often bring buyers from the Silicon Valley to the Monterey Peninsula to enjoy our tranquil lifestyle and numerous amenities the Peninsula provides. I enjoy the business connections and camaraderie that I have built through the years and plan to stay here as long as possible. I live at Pasade...ra, home of The Club at Pasadera, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. Who do you know of looking to buy or sell real estate in the Monterey Peninsula Area? I am NEVER too busy for your referrals! Of all the people you know, who will be the next to move? Please do two things: 1) tell them about me and, 2) hit reply to this email and tell me about them. With Appreciation & Gratitude. Sharon Smith Intero Real Estate Services (831) 809-4029 [email protected] License | 01780563

Tom Tognoli, CEO of Intero Real Estate responds to the recent acquisition of Alain Pinel Realty by Compass. InteroWhat do you think about the takeover of APR on the heels of the Pac Union takeover?? Seems a little crazy and a head scratcher to me. Before anything is published, I wanted to let you know I have been contacted by several news outlets for my thoughts on the latest situation.... Yesterday, I was contacted by Inman News to comment on the APR takeover and the impact it will have on the Bay Area housing market. See below for my thoughts.... and when it comes out, build on it, and be loud in public and online about why you, your office, Intero, and Berkshire Hathaway are the place to be. 1. We are on high ground in all of this mess. Intero and Berkshire Hathaway are not going anywhere. 2. If agents want to get out of the drama and get to work on making money, Intero is the place! 3. We are the intersection where innovation (Silicon Valley) meets influence and capital (Warren Buffet) with Intero and Berkshire Hathaway. 4. Ask your clients if they had a million dollars, who would they invest it withRobert Refkin and SoftBank or you, Intero, Warren Buffet and Berkshire Hathaway? We all know what they will say. So why work for a firm or with a firm you don’t believe in? Scott ChaseThanks for reminding all of us the power of relationshipsI have weaved it into my comments to Inman News. Here are my thoughts that I sent to Patrick Kearns at Inman News: Hey PatrickCrazy times for sure! Regarding your question of how this is going to affect the Bay Area Real Estate marketit’s not. On the other hand, this is going to affect their agents and the smaller companies on a massive level. This acquisition has taken yet another player out of the market and has left many agents with a new brand and new leaders that were not their choice. With the takeover of APR, Intero is in a position to fill a need for agents that may not be overly fired up about not having a say in who they work for. INTERO’s executive and leadership team is all local, providing Intero with a distinct advantage. We can make local decisions and take action that will be hard to duplicate by an East Coast management team. At the end of the day, real estate is still a relationship business and you can’t buy relationships and trustyou have to earn them. It’s hard enough to earn and then build relationships with people across town, much less across the country. We are already having many discussions with agents that have been affected by this move. This will have a positive impact on INTERO. Unfortunately I don’t think the smaller boutique companies that are not well capitalized will be so fortunate! They are the ones who are really getting hurt and squeezed out. I don’t like seeing that. Fortunately, we can also be a great option for them and their agents.
