Our Staff has been BUSY! I will update this photo as other staff members complete their certification. Jennifer and Deanna have completed both the Basic Program and the Advanced program thus far! CONGRATULATIONS TEAM! Our office was ahead of many new recommendations being made by the CDC, ADA & the CDA, however, we are adding or changing some protocols for both staff & patient protection. Rubber Dam; have used it since the office opened!... Cleaning restroom between patients; already a protocol. Cleaning counter tops between patients; we keep the black granite sparkling Door knobs exterior & interior; we have sanitized them 2x/day, will do more! Pre-rinsing prior to treatment; we are changing to an AMAZING new product that kills: Bacteria, Fungus & Virus (including COVID19) ... more information on this rinse in following updates! Surgical hats; I have worn them over a year, they are now on order for staff

Hello from Dr. Mateja & Team, We hope you and your loved ones are safe during this pandemic. Soon Gov. Newsom will reduce restrictions and our office will be open again to serve you. In the meantime, I encourage you to remain vigilant in protecting yourself from the spread of COVID-19 by continuing to practice the hygiene and physical distancing measure that we have all learned over the two months. We know the susceptible entries for the virus are the eyes, nose, and mouth, ...therefore it is very important that your mouth remain healthy. Please work diligently to maintain your oral health until we can again see you for regular care. Sandra has given you great home care instructions, but should you find yourself low on home care products, call the office and make arrangements with Deanna to get what you need for optimal health. The mouth is a portal that you can protect! Deanna will be answering the phone during our normal business hours and days which are Mon Thurs 8 to 5. We are all anxious to return to work to reconnect with our patients whom we miss. YES, we will see emergency patients. Should an emergency arise, call the office; if it is after business hours you will be directed to the emergency phone number. Be well, Dr. Sharon Mateja & Team

COVID UI UPDATE From Senator Roth Unemployment Insurance Update EDD Temporarily Suspends Recertification Requirements for Unemployment Insurance (link)... On Thursday, California Labor Secretary Julie Su issued a memorandum to Employment Development Department (EDD) Director Sharon Hilliard directing the EDD to temporarily suspend unemployment certification requirements for the weeks ending March 14 through May 9. Previously, the EDD required that claimants certify eligibility every two weeks before a payment can be made. Claimants are still required to notify the EDD if they return to work during this time period. Secretary Su stated the following: Over the last two days, the benefits system has slowed significantly due to the strain of so many claims, keeping Californians from accessing UI Online to file new claims and to certify for payments. This has threatened the ability of people to apply for benefits and our ability to pay benefits. In order to preserve UI Online and its ability to function to provide UI benefits and additional federal pandemic-related benefits to Californians, we need to take additional temporary emergency action.
