Construction is continuing on the shade structure over the amphitheater at Shady Creek. We are looking forward to using this beautiful space when we are able to reopen. Many thanks to the Shady Creek Outdoor Education Foundation for making this project possible!

Here at Shady Creek we honor all living beings and habitats in nature. Today we had some exciting visitors. We found a grouping of bats trying to make a new home near the pool house. With big thanks to Shannon Cueva Little for gently and kindly relocating these sweet creatures to an area where they could find a natural hibernation space. Among all the stigma around bats. Bats are a crucial mammal in the earths cycles and habitats. They provide essential pest control, includi...ng eating mosquitos! They pollinate our plants and disperse seeds for new plants and trees. Today we are enjoying the animal presence on the land and hope you are having a wonderful day too! (This is stock photo, unsure who photo credit goes too)

Those who went to Woodleaf as a kid often remember it as a life-changing experience, and we are happy to report the program continues to change lives after all this time! See more
