MAJOR COLOR CORRECTION SUCCESS!! This amazing client has long hair and a normal amount of it. For this correction I chose to go with a foilayage. From start to finish the procedure took 7 hours. I charged her $250. Some people may say I charged her too little or too much. What I charge doesnt make me more or less qualified than other stylist that charge more or less than me, doesnt make me brighter, nor does it make me more or less knowledgeable than them either. This blonde journey began 8 months ago! We started with black and red box die hair color in other words major color correction It took 4 appointments but she's finally a blondie Patience is definitely needed in a process from black to blonde. Also keep in mind that blonde is high maintenance and "retouches" are not cheaper$. So please make sure to use salon quality hair products at home! I feel that retouches should be more even though I dont charge more for them but I do c...harge the same as initial bayalage. For some reason some ladies expect to pay less for "retouches". Scenarios vary but when starting with a clean canvas or a canvas that has no previous bleaching a bonder isnt necessary but for "balayage retouches" the bonder is a must and let me tell you bonders are not cheap but well worth every penny! So please ladies let's be realistic and not come into the salon with black/dark brown colored hair and expect to walk out blonde on your first session! Individual keratin extensions VS sowed in track extension I constantly get asked this question by potential extension clients. So this is my personal opinion based on my experience applying both techniques for 13 years. There's several installation options when it comes to extensions and I've tried almost all. I've taken longevity of the extension in the hair and the repercussion of the extension towards the hair in consideration when I decided to opt for these 2 techniqu...es to be my go to for extensions. The cost of the extensions totally depends on the price budget of each individual client. I personally reccomend top quality because it's going to be in your hair for weeks if not months depending on technique. Pros w/ sowed *If you invest on top quality hair you can reuse them and they will easily last you over a year when taken good care of. *This technique will give you 4-8 weeks inbetween retouches(re-tightening). *My cost is $25 per track for installation and retouches. I usually put 4-6 tracks per head. *Installation time 1-2 hours. Cons You have to be more mindful on a daily basis so that the track doesn't show. Pros w/ individual extensions *The flow of the overall hair is the most natural with this technique. *The lifespan of this technique is 4-6 months. *My installation price is $300. *Installation time 3-5 hours. Cons *You cannot reuse this hair. YOU WILL LOOSE HAIR WITH ALL TECHNIQUES. REMEMBER WE SHED HAIR EVERYDAY AND THIS HAIR IS HELD IN BY THE EXTENSION.
