The San Francisco Zoo 12.11.2020

The Australian WalkAbout is a multi-species exhibit featuring plants and animals native to Australia. See red kangaroos, grey kangaroos and wallaroos in this slice of Australia exhibit. The WalkAbout features an overlook, where visitors can observe these marsupials, or "pouched animals" anywhere in the exhibit. If you look carefully enough, you can sometimes spot a joey in its mother’s pouch!

Add a ride on the historic Little Puffer miniature steam train to your visit to the San Francisco Zoo. Like generations before you, you'll make wonderful childhood memories for your kids. Little Puffer does not run in wet weather due to slippery tracks, and is periodically closed for maintenance.

The renovated Aviary features a realistic rainforest ecosystem, full of colorful free-flight birds, exotic plants and trees, a charming two-toed sloth, and the Zoo’s first significant herpetological collectionwhich will include a 15-foot long green anaconda as well as rare tree frogs, turtles, lizards, and snakes. The new exhibit highlights environmental threats facing rainforests, as well as the devastating effects of the illegal pet trade on South American wildlife. The new Aviary will immerse visitors in a realistic tropical environment and create a stunning new educational space at the Zoo.
