Today marks 200 days since we have been sheltering-in-place. Remote work to distance learning and frontline workers keeping our City safe, these past few months have had its share of ups and downs. But as a community, we rallied together like never before. Keep it up, San Francisco!
Southeast Community, SECF has been activated as a weather respite center. Community members can go there to get relief from the very unhealthy air quality today. The center will be open in this capacity through the weekend from 10 AM - 5 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend and get relief.

The new Southeast Community Center construction is still underway. So is our outreach campaign to hear directly from community members. We'd love to hear from you. Please find the link to the survey below. This historic project represents SFPUC's commitment to living up to the mitigation agreement that drove the development of the current Southeast Community Facility. This project is a joint venture between The Allen Group and Pankow. We thank them for their continued dedication to the project throughout these tough times. https://sfpuc.typeform.com/to/y21Jer

Hi Neighbors, The Southeast Treatment Plant has partnered with the San Francisco Arts Commission (SFAC) to unveil the first of four large-scale temporary murals in your community. The 300-foot artwork by Bay Area artist Sirron Norris will span across the Southeast Treatment Plant Headworks Facilities Project’s construction fence on Evans Avenue between Rankin and Phelps Streets for one year as part of a temporary art program launching this summer. Norris’s artwork, commissio...ned through SFAC’s Public Art Program, is a colorful and intricate history of the Bayview Hunter-Point. Norris partnered with the community to create the concept through a series of interactive artist workshops where he taught basic cartooning methods while asking their feedback on what should be included in the mural. The Headworks Facilities Project is one of two largest improvement projects at the Southeast Treatment Plant. Headworks is where the wastewater flows enter the treatment plant and debris is removed. This project will minimize odors, reduce operational costs, and increase efficiency. For the most up to date information on activities happening at the Southeast Treatment Plant, visit sfwater.org/sepconstruction.

In an abundance of caution, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission is cancelling the groundbreaking ceremony of its new Southeast Community Center slated to take place on Saturday, March 7. Safety is always our top priority, and with the growing presence of the Coronavirus in the Bay Area, the SFPUC is making the decision to cancel the event in order to ensure the health and wellbeing of our communities. We appreciate your understanding.
4 more days until we break ground! Join us at the site of our new Community Center for our Block Party in celebration of the legacy of the Southeast Community Facility at 1800 Oakdale in preparation for our move to 1550 Evans Avenue!
We are looking forward to celebrating the future of the Southeast Community Center and honoring its rich legacy in the community. One of the memories we will be honoring is the support we received from the San Francisco Black Leadership Forum back in 2016. These letters of support really made an impact on the work we're doing here. Join us on March 7th as we usher in the next chapter of the Southeast Community Center!
