NEW: Those that are 65 and older or vulnerable to #COVID19 must practice home isolation. Bars, night clubs, wineries, and breweries should close in CA. Restaur...ants -- focus on takeout for those isolating. Maximize social distancing. We’re working in real time to secure hotels, motels, and trailers to house our homeless safely and protect our communities and the spread of #COVID19. We must protect our most vulnerable to #COVID19 and ensure essential parts of our society can keep functioning like: - our healthcare system - grocery stores - pharmacies - social service providers And that people who can continue to work safely & remain productive can do so.

From SFFILM to our beloved Bay Area and wider film community We are deeply saddened and disappointed to announce that we are canceling the 63rd San Francisco ...International Film Festival. As the situation with COVID-19 evolves and concerns around public safety grow, SFFILM is committed to being a part of the solution to keep our community, audiences, and artists safe and is abiding by the current recommendations from state and city health officials. Stay tuned for news from SFFILM on how we can gather together in celebration of film throughout the rest of 2020 and into the future. Updates will be posted at sffilm.org. Thank you for your support and understanding during these challenging times.

Dear BAMily, To protect public health and slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19, Bay Area Musicals will cancel all remaining performances of The Full Monty... through Sunday, March 15, 2020. This is an extremely emotional decision for us, as it has been for everyone who has made the same call in the past few days. As a local arts organization, Bay Area Musicals relies on the support of our community and that’s more true now than ever. It takes a village to create live theatre, and closing our show at this time has a measurable financial impact on the lives and livelihoods of our actors, musicians, production crew, box office staff, and volunteers who make our art form possible. Bay Area Musicals is committed to paying all staff involved with these cancelled performances. We thank you in advance for your patience as we navigate through the coming weeks. Our box office is still open, in addition to staff and board members who will be available by phone and email. We have implemented a more flexible ticket-exchange policy, which will allow you to exchange tickets for a future production of our fifth anniversary season. To make an exchange please email our Patron Services Manager at [email protected] or call 415-340-2207. Our lines and emails are experiencing an influx right now and appreciate your patience as we navigate each request. Matthew McCoy, Artistic Director: [email protected] Jon Gallo, Board Member: [email protected] Thom Ward, Board Member: [email protected] Alexia Staniotes, Patron Services Manager: [email protected] For tickets purchased through any third-party ticketing outlets such as Goldstar and TodayTix, please reach out to them directly for a refund. In lieu of box office ticket refunds, please consider giving the cost of your ticket back to Bay Area Musicals. We need your help now more than ever. Additionally, please be sure to donate to all your favorite organizations and artists that are being financially impacted by this crisis. Everyone is hurting right now. We call it a BAMily because we are family. Take care of each other and we’ll see you soon. With Love, Matthew McCoy Founder & Artistic Director

SF Indiefest is a year-round, non-profit organization that has been operating since 1998. We present four annual festivals: the SF Independent Film Festival (SF Indie for short), the SF Documentary Festival (DocFest for short), the SF Independent Short Film Festival (IndieShorts) and Another Hole in the Head, our genre film festival. In the past we’ve presented the Northern California Action Sports Film Festival, the US edition of the touring shnit International Short Film Fe...stival and numerous music festivals and one off parties and events. In addition to the film programs, IndieFest is known for throwing some great parties, the annual Big Lebowski Party, an annual Anti-Valentine’s Day Power Ballad Sing A Long Party, an annual Super Bowl live sketch comedy show and many live music events. Recently IndieFest produced a play in conjunction with the Primitive Screwheads theater company called Much Ado About Lebowski, a series of art gallery events of Bad Art (and published a book of bad art) and is planning more theater, music, art and film events right this very moment! The Cockettes were established on Dec 31, 1969 at the Palace Theater in a haze of sex, drugs, drag, genderbending and glitter. They took drag and old Hollywood musicals and turned them inside out and upside down attracting the attention of the American underground culture. Cult filmmaker John Waters and drag superstar Divine even traveled to San Francisco to be part of their shows. They were ahead of their time especially in the acceptance of gender fluidity, and they changed... the face of drag forever. In 2009 a theater troupe called the Thrillpeddlers run by Russell Blackwood revived a legendary Cockettes show called Pearls Over Shanghai to much acclaim and a long run. Playing on the interest already garnered by a Cockettes documentary released in 2002, interest in this troupe was reawakened entertaining a whole new audience. The Thrillpeddlers continued recreating Cockettes shows under the watchful eye of the original songwriter Scrumbly Koldewyn over the next decade. Now a major zenith is upon us, the 50 year anniversary of the creation of the Cockettes! Prepare for a night like no other as the remaining Cockettes take to the stage to reminisce and celebrate the night with special guests re-enacting legendary numbers and plenty of surprises.
