Since the beginning of this pandemic, San Fernando has had more than 1,800 positive COVID19 cases, which is the third highest rate per 100,000 residents in LA County; and we have lost 24 residents to this virus thus far. Due to current surge, more than 85% of Southern California’s Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied with critically ill patients. As a result, the California Department of Public Health has issued a Regional Stay at Home Order, that goes into effect 12/6/20... at 11:50 pm, that ALL cities in southern California, including San Fernando, MUST adhere to for the next three weeks. Please stay safe by wearing your cloth face covering at all times when outside of your home, limit your interaction with others as much as possible, and enjoy spending quality time with those in your own household this holiday season. Visit https://ci.san-fernando.ca.us/coronavirus/ for more details on the Regional Stay at Home Order.

Due to current weather conditions, Southern California Edison has issued a Public Safety Power Shutoff and may shut off the power in specific sections of San Fernando within the next 1 to 4 hours. This does not guarantee that your power will be shut off, but it might, so it's best to stay prepared. Should you lose power and need a place to shelter safely, Las Palmas Park will be open until 3 pm or until the power returns. Social distancing and face masks required. IF YOU SEE... A DOWNED POWER LINE, STAY AWAY AND CALL 911! Visit https://www.sce.com/wildfire/psps for the current shutoff status and tips on how to prepare for an electric outage.
