SF Puppy Prep

Working on the theme of the day: Hand targeting, aka Touch. A hand target is a great way to move your dog in space, help them over thresholds, pass a distraction or hold still in one place. We teach this by holding out our hand and marking the moment puppy touches our hand with a yes or a click, then feeding. After some hard work, time for a nap!

Socialization means meeting lots of new people, dogs, sights and sounds. Today we had a blast learning to enjoy running through tunnels!

Charlie, Kona, Luna, Maggie and Buddy playing together in our micros group! Charlie is learning to come when called out of play, this can be hard for pups so remember to always reward you pup for their attention, say their name only once and if they don’t respond right away follow through with some other fun sounds to encourage them to you!
