SF Athletics would like to send a special thank you to the three inspiring women who served as speakers at yesterday's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) virtual leadership retreat. Thank you to former NCAA Individual Golf Champion/St. Francis and UC Berkeley Athletics Hall of Famer/LPGA player Sarah (Huarte) Glynn (Golf, 2000)...Softball All-American/ 2013 National Champion at Oklahoma University/Team USA and professional player Jessica Shults...and one of the all-time running greats from St. Francis, a 7x All-American at the University of Portland, Lauren LaRocco (CC/T&F, 2014). You made the day special for our Troubie student-athlete leaders! Thanks for taking the time to give back by sharing your experiences and wisdom.

It’s been a busy October! Several of our Troubie athletes have committed to play collegiately in the coming years. We hope to celebrate this year’s seniors in a commitment ceremony on April 14, 2021. The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and the Sac-Joaquin Section have announced modified dates for competitive sports seasons in response to public health restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. St. Francis Athletics will begin the work to revise the various schedules for our respective sport programs accordingly. Details related to tryout dates, schedules, potential off-season workout dates, etc., will be released over the coming weeks. SFHS senior and volleyball player Julia Zara was chosen to take part in a Good Day Sacramento interview for her participation in the Bank of America Student Leaders Program! This competitive, nationwide program accepts 4 students from the Sacramento region to partake in a paid summer internship with the Boys & Girls Club of Sacramento. Julia shared "I've learned about various things through this program so far, such as racial equity, food insecurity, homelessness, and mentorship". Congratulations, Julia! Alumna Marli Berry '20 was named to the United Soccer Coaches Winter/Spring All-America team and joined rising seniors Jackie Stanco and Hailey Lemon on the 2020 United Soccer Coaches All-West Region team announced this week. https://gotroubies.com//ws/2020-21/releases/20200713nw3fut
Alumna Emily Peters '16 graduated from California Polytechnic State University with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration. She competed four years for the Mustangs Swimming and Diving program after her Troubie career that included qualifying for the CIF State Championships. After completing her position with the Giants Community Fund working with the Junior Giants At Home in August, she will begin her journey as a Sales Representative for E. & J. Gallo Winery. #TroubieTakeover
