Local 798 SF Firefighters Toy Program volunteers spent a evening in North Beach helping direct traffic for one of the Toy Programs donors Cafe Trieste. Local 798 SF Firefighters Toy Program Virtual Toy Drives have begun. Due to COVID 19 we are suggesting that business participate in Virtual Toy Drives instead of toy barrel collections. We have used a company called YOU GIVE GOODS the past few years and you can choose a toy and it is sent directly to us. This year we have thousands of children that are applying for toys and we need your help to ensure that the children have gifts to open this holiday season. Because of you...r generosity and kind spirit we are able to give children toys that ordinarly might not receive a gift. Please consider hosting a virtual toy drive or sending us a toy from amazon. You can mail it to SF Firefighters Toy Program 2225 Jerrold Ave SF CA 94124 Toy Donation Suggestions Arts and crafts Board Games Basketballs, Volleyballs Bicycles School Supplies Legos Gift Baskets/lotions/socks/earbuds Thankyou so much! #sffirefighterstoyprogram #sffd #sffdlocal798 #sanfrancisco #firefighters #medics #emt #donations #pleasedonate #itsforthekids #givingback #community #bayarea #virtualtoydrive #yougivegoods #childrensbooks #childrenarethefuture #kindness #courage #holidayseason

I remember this day and the pure terror I felt when I woke up and saw the United States under attack. I remember the unity of every American. I remember the pure sadness of losing so many firefighters, police officers, ems and civilians. Today I take a moment to honor every American and all of those people who gave their lives trying to save others I also want to honor every firefighter, chaplain, military personnel who went to New York to help. This is an emotional day for ...those who remember. Sending you strength, love and prayers. May GOD Bless each and everyone of us. #sffd #911 #911memorial #firefighter #firefightersofinstagram #emergencyresponders #paramedic #ems #sanfrancisco #twintowers #courage #strength #honor #military #thankyoufirstresponders #Jillpeelertherapy #trauma #ptsi #pleaseshare Please reach out if you need to talk. The Local 798 SF Francisco Firefighters Toy Program sent some toys today to a very special child who was in a tragic accident last week. Menlo Park Police Department Officers Association which volunteers yearly for the Toy Program brightened up this young mans day when they delivered toys, gift cards and dinner when he arrived home from a traumatic injury two weeks ago. Officers from Menlo Park Police were on scene the accidental incident which resulted in Brandon’s traumatic lose of some toes. #menlopark #firstresponders #sffirefighterstoyprogram #sffd #local798 #community #firefighters #childrenfirst @ Menlo Park, California

There's magic that happens at the SF Firefighters Toy Program each year. Would you like to make a difference in the lives of children. See the smiles on their faces when they receive a toy. Most of these kids we are helping possibly might not receive anything else. This is where the magic really is. Imagine giving a kid a bike that has never ridden a bike before. Something that was just a given to many of us. So many of these kids look up to firefighters and some have that dr...eam of becoming one. Your donations make a huge difference in these children's lives. This is why we all come together, for the kids. Let's make this our best Toy Season ever and let's show the kids how much we care! Inspire our youth, remember they are watching us. They hear our words, see our actions and can feel our emotions. Inspire them, motivate them! Remind them that they can be anything they choose to be regardless of circumstances. Believe in our youth, remind them that their two hands can and will change the world. If they are male or female, they can become firefighters, Paramedics, EMTs, First Responders, Doctors, Astronauts, Therapist’s, they can be anything they choose. Te...ach them to never give up, and never let another persons words or actions hold them back. The youth is our future! #sanfranciscofiredepartment #sanfranciscofirefighterstoyprogram #sffd #sffdlocal798 #bayarea #womanofworth #childrenarethefuture #photooftheday #instadaily #influencer #childhoodunplugged #abundance #future #love #goals #inspirationalquotes #motivation #motivated #gratitude #firefighter #emt #firstresponders #bayareafirefighter #emergencyservices #childrenoftheworld #ellendegeneres #ellenshow #oprahwinfrey See more

I woke up this morning thinking about connection, and how disconnected so many of us are feeling right now. I thought about our mentoring days how we connect first responders with children in the community and the reason we did it. Mentoring Day was more than just a fun day at the Zoo. The reason behind the mentoring days was to create a connection between first responders and the community. It was to inspire children and their families that despite any circumstance they can... achieve anything they want to be. It was to encourage them to see their value and self worth. It was to raise self esteem and cultural awareness in all of us. We were all on a equal playing field and we danced together, we did art projects together, we are and played together and so many children that had never even knew a first responder before started to volunteer with the Toy Program and learn that by giving to others it fills our hearts with unconditional love. So when I ask myself the question, instead of complaining or being complacent or feeling the need to take a stance on only one side, What can I do to create connection and my answer was. We need to do what we have already been doing, we need to create connection and understanding and inspiration. We need to show each other we care about each other as human beings. We need to connect and unfortunately COVID is keeping us apart. So do we create a virtual mentoring day? Do we create a virtual ethnic doll drive? I want us to reconnect and that I believe is the key. What do you think? Look at these faces below, there is a lot of love and a lot of connection here. This is what we need. Share if you believe we need more connection, understanding in this world. The SF Firefighters Toy Program has brought connection and love into the community for over 50 years, and I believe we all could use this right now. #sffd #sffirefighterstoyprogram #sffdlocal798 #firefighter #paramedic #ems #emt #firstresponders #emergencyresponder #community #connection #sanfrancisco #bayarea #love #culturalawareness #selfesteem #believeinyourself #shebelievedshecouldsoshedid #iaff @ S F Firefighters Local 798
