CALL FOR PUBLIC AND GENERAL BOARD MEMBERS The San Francisco Community Land Trust, a visionary organization securing permanent affordable housing for low- and middle-income residents, is seeking new Board members. We are the only Community Land Trust active in San Francisco. Our commitment to resident self-management and empowerment distinguishes us from all other local non-profit housing development organizations.... The SFCLT Board, which includes residents from our 13 properties, meets on a monthly basis, with Board members serving for a term of 2 years. Board members are expected to serve on one committee, meeting approximately 6 times per year, and attend our annual meeting and a 1 day Board retreat. This totals to about 20 meetings annually. If you have the time and energy, we need you. For those with extra dedication, our Executive Management team consists of 4 Board members (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary) and our Organization Director, who meet weekly by conference call. SFCLT is motivated by anti-racist ethics. 70% of our current residents are POC and we strive to make an impact countering the ongoing displacement of Black, Latinx, immigrant, and working class (including artists and LGBTQ) San Franciscans. People of color, women, and folks connected to at-risk communities are especially encouraged to apply. We are particularly seeking people with expertise or strong interest in the following areas: - Non profit housing development - Fundraising, both institutional and private - Racial equity advocacy and outreach - Accounting, budgeting, and/or real estate financing If interested, please contact Charles Higgins at [email protected].
